Apple seems to have created a strategy when it comes to launching its iPhone models. With two new devices released in the first half of the year and two more launched in the second half, the Cupertino-based tech giant appears to be following a particular itinerary.
We get this, as the shorter period after releasing a product is, the quicker the response to the market’s requirements can be in the shape of a new model. Now, according to some rumors, Apple is preparing to launch its 5G iPhones. There are allegedly a total of four models for the upcoming launch, and the whole stock is expected to hold 120 million units.
A Huge Wave of Replacements
At the same time, other sources have claimed that there will be a period in 2020 in which the 4G smartphones will be replaced. Therefore, to take advantage of this opportunity, the tech giant has planned to launch four different models. The coming year may also register the iPhone series’ biggest wave of mobile phone replacements after the huge surge that happened after the iPhone 6.
Recent news regarding the new iPhones also noted that four new Apple smartphones would be powered by Qualcomm’s X55 chipset. Therefore, it will support both SA and NSA dual-mode networks. Even so, when compared to Huawei chipset, Qualcomm has not yet incorporated the 5G baseband into the processor.
Because of the use of the most recent baseband, Apple’s new iPhone will address the signal issue. According to the speculations, the number of antennas on the new device will also be multiplied, and the requirements for the headroom will decrease. Apple will reportedly gear the new iPhones with three LCPs, and support for the millimeter-wave high-frequency band. This will greatly enhance the Internet speed.
The Price of the New iPhones
The same rumors mentioned that even though the new Apple devices will support 5G, the company will be managing well the prices of the iPhones. This means that the smartphones will not have a very high price tag compared to the 2019 models.
Some experts also suggest that the four new iPhones will include a 5.4-inch, two 6.1-inch, and 6.7-inch devices. Two of these are the top models, namely a 6.1-inch and the 6.7-inch variants. The devices will allegedly pack millimeter-wave support, triple camera array, and a 3D lens.
The other two handsets are considered standard models, only supporting the Sub-6Ghz 5G regular, featuring a dual-camera setting and no 3D lens.
One More iPhone to be Released
Besides the four new models to be released next year, Apple may also launch an entry-level device, more precisely the iPhone SE2, which is said to appear around March 2020. The design and hardware features of this upcoming device are allegedly similar to those on the iPhone 8.
For instance, it is said to be geared with a 4.7-inch display, coming in two different variants: a 64GB model and a 128GB model. When it comes to the color options, it will be available in Deep Gray, white and red.
The iPhone SE2 is believed to be the best upgrade version for the existing iPhone 6 and 6S lineup.
