Best Tips to Use the Google Play Store at Its Fullest

Google Play Store is very popular, but not everyone knows how to use it at its fullest. That’s when we come to the picture. Here are the best tips to make the most out of the Google Play Store.

You can search for apps by individual developers

This trick is something we always use. Did you know that you can search for the apps that are developed by individual developers? It’s straightforward to find them. Go to the search bar, and write pub: “name of publisher” – without the quotes. Let’s take a clear example: “pub:Google”.

If you want to look through the apps of a particular developer, just put their name there and search for it. This is how you can find only trusted developers.

You can control what your kid downloads

If your kid loves to play games, and you’re not sure what he or she downloads from the Google Play Store, you can always set parental controls. In order to do so, you need to go to the Settings, then go to Parental Controls, and turn them on.

If you’re using it for the very first time, you will need to create a PIN. After you enter it, you can set the age restriction for the content found on the Google Play Store.

You can make a wishlist

What most of you don’t know is that Google Play Store offers a wishlist – it’s basically a save for later feature. You can add all kinds of content – movies, apps, games, books. It’s good to have a wishlist – it’s easier to find everything there.

In order to add an app to your wishlist, press on the three dots that are placed next to the apps, and then tap Add to wishlist. It’s good to do it if you want to get a paid app, but you don’t want to pay the full price – perhaps you’re waiting for a discount.

You can update the Google Play Store manually

Google is making a lot of changes to its service, and you surely want to be kept up to date with everything. The Play Store update won’t always get to everyone at the same time – since it’s region-based. In these cases, you can always update it manually. Check if there is an update for it first. Go to Settings, and tap Build version. If there is, indeed, a new version available, then you will get the following message: “A new version of Google Play Store will be downloaded and installed.”

You can find the update page faster

It is so much easier to find the updates this way. We know that most of you keep the auto-update off, and it’s a whole lot of work to move in the app, from the main page to the update page of every app. But what if we’re telling you there’s an easier way? You can jump to the app updates page without opening the Play Store.

In order to do so,  tap and hold the Play Store icon and tap on My apps. You will get directly to the updates page, and you can choose to update the apps instantly. If you want to make your life even easier than that, you can make a My apps shortcut on the home screen.
