WhatsApp is allowing its users to make group video calls with 8 people in it. Facebook is also teasing the idea of integrating Messenger Rooms in the messaging app. The tech giant is slowly adding this feature to WhatsApp Web.
Facebook has already confirmed that they have been testing the Messenger Room support for both WhatsApp and Instagram. The feature is not available yet for iOS or Android, but we will soon hear more.
So how can I create Messenger Rooms in WhatsApp?
First of all, in order to create a room by using WhatsApp’s shortcut, you will need to have the web version updated to the latest one – that’s 2.2031.4. There are two ways in which you can create a Messenger room.
The first one is by clicking the three dots that are placed on the top left corner of the screen, then clicking on Create a Room. A new window will appear, and there will be the option to go to the feature. Click on “Continue with Messenger” in order to create a room. If you want to create a room by using another account, you can also do that with the option to switch accounts.
The second one is for chats. Facebook has created a shortcut to Messenger Rooms in individual chats. All you need to do is click on the attachment clip on the top right corner, and select the option of Rooms. Then follow the instructions.
You need to keep in mind that the room is not created inside the WhatsApp app, but it is really a link that combines the app and Messenger Rooms.
