Google has finally released a highly-awaited feature numerous fans have requested for a while now: the dark mode for the Play Store.
According to an online report, some Android 10 users have spotted the feature on the Google Play Store and reported it further. However, the dark mode for Play Store has not been officially released for every Android 10 user. As Android Police reports, some users have noticed the brand new feature in the Google Play Store settings.
Android 10 comes with a system-wide dark mode feature that functions incredibly well. Still, the Google Play Store was the only service that had no support for dark mode. The report also implies that when the company officially launches the feature, users will be able to choose between a few options: permanent light, permanent dark, or an automatic selection on the grounds of overall system settings.
The Functionality Could Appear on Other OS Versions
As per the report, the feature seems to appear at random, and it is apparently only available for devices powered by Android 10. It is not clear yet if this will allow mobile phones running Android 9 Pie or older versions of the operating system to receive the dark mode feature for the Google Play Store. The reports have all mentioned the dark mode to be on Android 10, but the functionality can also be implemented on other OS.
Not long ago, Google announced that is has deleted about 600 applications from its Google Play Store and has also banned them from its ad monetization services – Google AdMob and Google Ad Manager. The tech giant stated that these removed apps break its disruptive ads policy and prohibited core policy.
A recent report stated that most of the banned applications are from India, China, and Singapore, which target English-speaking users.
