It’s very hard to decide which one of the Grand Theft Auto titles is the best game of the series. Most would say that the latest GTA 5 easily takes the cake, others would claim that GTA 4 deserves the big prize for its realistic mechanics, while another huge part of the fanbase is firmly claiming that GTA San Andreas has the best gameplay ever. Whatever the truth may be, the long-awaited sequel for GTA 5 has the most difficult mission in the 23 years old history of Grand Theft Auto: to make the fans forget about the other titles from the series.
We’re all eager to receive any official info from Rockstar about how GTA 6 will be, but we still have plenty to wait. However, a trusted publication claims that the developers are finally working on the next GTA title. But the problem is that there was no word about the exact name of the project. It could be a simple remake of an older GTA title, not necessarily GTA 6.
To be or not to be GTA 6
Many fans of the insanely popular open-world series were disappointed to hear that the upcoming GTA game, whether it will be GTA 6 or not, is only under early development. After a seven years wait, they were hoping for the next Grand Theft Auto title to be much further under development, or even in its final testing phase before launch. The publication that brought up the news is Kotaku, and it said the following:
“But there’s a catch: Rockstar’s next big project is still early in development. When production ramps up and the game gets closer to launching, will overtime come with it? Will Rockstar’s employees then face the pressure of months of crunch in order to finish all of the ambitious work it takes to make a Rockstar game?”
But there’s no need to lose hope just yet if you’re a GTA fan. Rockstar insiders themselves have something important to say.
GTA 6 is NOT under early development
Rockstar insider @Yan2295 said on Twitter that GTA 6 is more likely to be in the early stages of testing rather than the early stages of development. Yan2295 added very firmly:
“I’m telling, it’s just not possible. Unless they have a very weird definition of “early stages”. Maybe early stages of testing, sure, but not of development.”
There you have it, the news that a lot of us were hoping for. Now we can only keep on eye on any news provided by Rockstar about the next GTA game. And it just has to be GTA 6.
