Surprisingly for some Android and iOS users, the Amazon Kindle Fire tablets are still popular. Unfortunately, Amazon’s devices do not sport the Play Store app. Accordingly, you have to install the Google Play Store on Amazon Fire tablets manually.
The installation process for the Play Store on Amazon Fire is straightforward, and you should not face issues when you do that. However, you must follow some steps, precisely as we will explain below.
How To Install Google Play Store On Amazon Fire Tablets
Activate the permission for other installation files
Turn On the Installation from Unkown Sources on your Amazon Kindle Fire device (now known as Amazon Fire). Here’s how to do that:
- Go to Settings -> Security & Privacy
- Switch the ‘Apps from Unknown sources’ on (for the latest Fire tablets, a dialogue box will pop up – you must choose ‘Documents apps’ and then select ‘Allow from this source’)
Download and install the Google Play Store
To have the Play Store on Amazon Fire tablets, you must download some additional Google apps:
- Google Account Manager
- Google Services Framework
- Google Play Services
Now you can download the Google Play Store. Unluckily, you’ll have to rely on the APK file of the official Android app store. At this point, you should find a reliable source, and you must always scan the file for malware, viruses, and other harmful code.
Note: By installing the before-mentioned APK file, you’ll get the official app, not one of the Google Play Store alternatives. Accordingly, you’ll get access to all the content found on the official Android app store.
You can now proceed with the installation process. Once you have accepted the permissions that the app asks, the application installs. When that’s done, you can access it and download anything you want.
