It has been about 13 years since we got the last Half-Life game, and we are waiting for the next one to hit the market. However, Valve does not seem to be on our side with this one. They have not really said anything about the release date of the third game. But the question is: will there be one?
Valve’s first series is the Half-Life series, and it premiered in 1998. Half-Life 2 was released back in 2004, and then in gave us episodic games, such as Lost Coast (2005), Episode One (2006), and Episode Two (2007). But we still want a third game.
So when is the release date?
Back in March 2020, Valve released Half-Life: Alyx. We can all agree that the game is fantastic. And we are sure that it shows an opportunity for the release of Half-Life 3. And we have no mentions of a release date, but they did say that they were opened to make more Half-Life games. But were they talking about Half-Life: Alyx 2?
Half-Life: Alyx came with virtual reality, and it was a success. So they might want to follow this pattern in the future, as well. But there was a problem, and that was the limited-user base, and, to be fair, the technology was simply way too expensive for many users. This is why they might not want to release other virtual reality games.
What about the plot?
Half-Life: Alyx takes place between Half-Life and Half-Life 2. Then, there comes Half-Life: Episode 2. This is when Alyx kills the Combine Advisor and manages to saves her father. Then we see her trapped in stasis. So we might actually see her getting out of there, and we cannot wait to see how.
