Surely not everybody can afford to change a smartphone every year in order to keep up with the latest trends. iPhone 11, iPhone 12, or Galaxy Fold 2 are easily among the public’s high hopes. But older phones are still worth buying and using for a long time, and it’s also the case for Huawei Mate SE.
An older phone doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s obsolete, and Huawei proves it very well with their Mate SE gadget. Being a very active Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Huawei has a lot of impressive things to show to the world.
Beautiful budget phone
Huawei Mate SE has a nice looking design since its frame and rear are made of metal. There is also some glass involved, as it houses a 5,93-inch LCD display.
The highlight specs can be considered the 4 GB of RAM and the dual camera from the rear: 16MP +2MP. The other specs are not so impressive: HiSilicon Kirin 659 for the processor, 3,340 mAh for the battery, and 8 MP for the front camera are specs also worth mentioning.
The phone’s price is revolving around the amount of $230, and it’s a reasonable price considering the specifications.
Software
Regarding the operating system, the Mate SE made by Huawei is packed with Android Nougat along with the EMUI 5.1 overlay. In the meantime, Huawei upgraded the device with the Android Oreo.
However, the HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor doesn’t allow the phone to handle multiple apps with ease. Huawei Mate SE is destined more for users who just need a smartphone for basic things like reading emails, watching a YouTube video, play a not too demanded game, and so on. Those who want to handle multiple tabs and apps should look for other smartphones, instead.
Huawei Mate SE is a decent budget phone with a nice design, and it’s totally worth its low price.
