Apple continues to prove that it has so much more to say regarding the smartphone market. Even though the Cupertino-based tech giant is focused on other technology areas as well, the iPhones remain the primary stronghold. Today we’ll be comparing two pretty different and unique iPhone models, a flagship (iPhone 11) and a budget phone (iPhone SE 2020).
Although it’s obvious that a flagship is clearly better than a budget phone, the purpose of this article is not to decide which one of the two iPhones is better. Not everybody needs high-end features on an iPhone, and you would be surprised to find out how many people still prefer budget phones. But let’s compare iPhone 11 and iPhone SE 2020.
Introduction
iPhone 11 is Apple’s flagship phone for 2019, and it’s considered a big improvement for its iPhone X predecessor. With a better camera, more RAM, better processor, IP68 dust and water resistance, and more, iPhone 11 clearly deserves to be considered a flagship. It’s much more durable, also, being comparable with the ancient Nokia 3310 that was considered the strongest phone ever made.
A Youtuber even proved how strong could iPhone 11 be by throwing it from high above in the sky to the ground. Even though the glass became shattered, the phone was still making the video recording. Here’s the video:
On the other hand, iPhone SE 2020 is an impressive budget phone, and you can easily guess in what year it was released, judging only by its title. It’s a remarkable phone especially for the fact that it packs Apple’s most powerful processor, the A13 Bionic. Furthermore, the chipset is also present in the iPhone 11. Having the most powerful processor for a budget phone is truly remarkable, and such a measure can even establish some new standards for the near future. Smartphones are evolving fast, and it’s enough to look at the specs of other models from recent years to convince ourselves of it.
Specifications
iPhone 11 clearly takes the cake in this area, having a bigger display, more RAM, better battery, and more. Apple’s flagship packs a huge 6.1-inch display, 4 GB of RAM, and a 3110 mAh battery with fast charging at 18W. On the other side, iPhone SE 2020 has a much smaller display (4.7 inch), 3 GB of RAM, and a far weaker battery: 1821 mAh, but also with fast charging at 18W.

iPhone 11 has the water resistance, the 4K video recording, the taking of ultra wide photos, and the 6.1 Liquid Retina display as the main highlights.
iPhone SE 2020 is best known for its 4K video recording and the A13 bionic chipset, but that’s nothing iPhone 11 cannot do.

And if we compare the SE 2020 model to its predecessor from four years ago, we can observe some impressive differences as we can mention wireless charging, better camera capabilities and water resistance.
Price
Price can actually be the most decisive criterion in this iPhone clash. iPhone SE 2020 wins this round if you’re aiming for the lower price, as it’s worth about $399. iPhone 11 sells for $635, but it’s totally worth its price.
There’s no doubt that iPhone 11 is the better phone if you’re aiming for the higher specs. But if you’re satisfied with lower but still powerful specs at a lower price, then you should buy the iPhone SE 2020 model without hesitation. Furthermore, its smaller size may be an advantage, as a lot of people are complaining that smartphones are becoming way too big. But it all depends ultimately on you and to how you perceive things.
