Kodi 18.6 Update Comes With Numerous Bug Fixes

Kodi is a free and open-source cross-platform software media player, as well as an amazing entertaining hub for devices. It uses a ten-foot UI created to be a media player for the living-room, using a remote control as the main input device.

The latest release, Kodi 18.6 update, comes with numerous bug fixes for users’ delight. A lot of reported issues within the app have been fixed, more bugs were squashed, and more enhancements have been brought.

This particular update focuses on backports. Where needed, developers have brought bug fixes forwards from the upcoming 19.x release, so users get to experience a more amazing app sooner than later.

In short, the update brought fixes for the audio system, such as addressing the visualizations, pause/resume, TrueHD crashes, and more. The build system was also considered, with updates for missing includes, Cmake for Windows only, and device handling and packaging for macOS.

The games category has also been tweaked, with the update packing fixes for launching disc images and .zip files. With regard to the app’s interface, the release came with fixes around TextureCache, for windowing, refresh rate, mode change, and more for Android, as well as fixes the floating/split keyboard for iOS. 

Other fixes include the issue with the file access on auto-mounted sources, incorrectly formatted region time, and JSON serialized path settings to python scrappers. Moreover, the update also fixed seeing with FileCache lockup and passthrough on USB devices for Android users.
