Microsoft‘s Surface Book 3 is reportedly launching this year, according to a leaked patent and designs for the device. The Surface Book lineup of laptops is one of the best devices that the company has developed, with the rumors currently circulating claim that Surface Book 3 could be a gaming laptop.
Surface Book 3 will provide users with significant upgrades in specs and processing power, which will make it one of the most powerful laptops on the market. Here is everything we know about Microsoft’s Surface Book 3 release date, specs, design, some speculations, and other updates the forthcoming gaming laptop will get.
Specs and Design Rumors
Surface Book 3 will allegedly pack high-end upgraded specs, like Intel‘s 10th-generation SoC, Nvidia‘s 16 Series GTX GPUs, as well as Nvidia’s Quadro series. It only makes sense for the upcoming device to upgrade to the 10th-generation Intel processors because the Surface Pro 7 and Surface Laptop 3 are already featuring Intel’s Ice Lake SoC.
Rumors have it that Microsoft will make the Surface Book 3 a gaming laptop with support for Xbox easy wireless controller, and Play Anywhere games. The device will also come with hardware updates in comparison to the previous Surface Book 2 lineup. Surface Book 3 is said to feature 32GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage, which can be upgraded to offer faster transfer speeds.
The Surface Book 3 of this year will not come with plenty of design features if compared to the previous models in the series, and will allegedly have the hinge. There will be small outer changes in the Surface Book 3; for instance, a new charging port and Surface Connect port beside a USB-A and a USB-C port. The leaked patent of the laptop also seems to imply that there will be another port located on the detachable keyboard.
Release Date and Updates
Microsoft has recently announced its Build 2020 event scheduled for May 19th to 20th in Seattle but will be an online conference because of the coronavirus pandemic currently ravaging countries all over the world
It is expected, however, that Surface Book 3 and Surface Go 2 will be announced at the event, together with other accessories. Some other reports claim that the tech giant will organize another big event in New York where it will launch the Surface Book 3 at the Big Apple.
