According to a blog post on Mojang, the upcoming content pack, named Jungle Awakens, will roll out on July 1st.
“That’s right, the first Dungeons DLC is on its way.” wrote Mojang’s Sofia Dankis. “Jungle Awakens will be released on July 1st, so get ready to battle new mobs such as the Leapleaf and Whisperer before ultimately saving the day by defeating the Jungle Abomination.”
If you purchased the Hero Edition when the game first launched, you’ll gain access to the DLC instantly, while those who bought the standard Minecraft Dungeons version can always upgrade it with the Hero Pass.
“In this adventure, you’ll enter a distant, dangerous jungle to fight a mysterious power in three new missions. To defeat the terrors hidden among the vines, you’ll have new weapons, armor, and artifacts at your disposal,” the blog post explained.
Changes in Minecraft Dungeons
Besides the Jungle Awakens DLC, there will also be a free update to Minecraft Dungeons, which comes with the Lost Temple dungeon, some new items, a few game-balancing adjustments, as well as pandas. Anyone who has played Minecraft before is definitely familiar with the outstanding music in the game, and Dungeons is no exception. Minecraft Dungeons’ original soundtrack is now available on Apple Music and Spotify in case you want to purchase it. The blog post also noted that the Jungle Awakens soundtrack is available to listen as well.
Minecraft Dungeons is a brand new action-adventure game, inspired by classic dungeon crawlers and placed in the popular Minecraft universe. If you’re familiar with games like Diablo, which has a player or a team of players exploring dungeons and win loot, you’ll quickly get used to Minecraft Dungeons.
