The Sims 5 Could Come after the Last Sims 4 Update Patch

1

Even until now, in 2020, we don’t have an official release date for The Sims 5. We don’t have it because the company didn’t stop the patch and expansion packs update for the current game, the Sims 4. At the same time, The Sims 4 will not receive the next batch of updates any soon.

A lot of theories and rumors are coming to life based on this sudden stop. One of the argument is saying that if these updates are stopping, then we could finally see The Sims 5.

Based on some sources, it is said that EA is canceling the Maxi Monthly Stream from this month. We don’t know the reason behind this canceled event, but some conspiracy theories are saying that it could make room for the next Sims. Of course, every fan is thinking that this could be the perfect hint of the next Sims title. Besides this, it could also mean that the trailer will come soon as well.

The Sims 5 might come after the last patch for The Sims 4

Unfortunately for fans, the Maxis Monthly event was the thing that made fans to hope and find out all about new releases and future games or preview content. The Maxis Monthly event is also useful for the developers because they have the perfect occasion to tease new games, new features, updates, or game packs for the current Sims game.

Also, the confirmation about the canceling of the March event came from the Community Manager @SimGuruFrost. He said that the Maxis Monthly event wouldn’t happen this month. Besides this, he received the question about the next patch updates for The Sims 4, but he didn’t answer. From this silence, we can understand that the next patch update for the Sims 4 is stopping.

Finally, what we know from EA is that The Sims 5 will be the most prominent online multiplayer game, with a lot of features and cloud support. If the trailer for The Sims 5 will launch this year, then we could see the game next year.

Researchers Learn More About the Ice Deposits on the Moon

A team of researchers has published a new paper that focuses on some of the ice deposits which can be found near the south pole of the moon. The researchers believe that some of them may be more recent in comparison to others, a trait that makes them more interesting.

During the study, the scientists surveyed data collected by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter which has spent over a decade orbiting the object and gathering valuable data.  An interesting detail is represented by the age of the craters in which many ice deposits were seen.

The paper mentions that observations related to the small craters which were found inside bigger ones played an important role in the task of estimating the age of the craters. By exploring the approximate number of asteroid and comet collisions, which took place over time, the researchers were able to determine the age of the deposits.

Data obtained by the team suggested that many of the ice deposits which can be found within large craters appeared almost 3.1 billion years ago. Frozen water observed in the case of smaller craters hints that the deposits encountered near the south pole are more recent.

The results were quite surprising for some researchers since there haven’t been any papers that tackled the age of ice found in young cold traps. It is also taught the ice which is located within the craters may have come from different sources. Older ice may have formed from water, which was carried by comets and other rocks that crashed into the moon, while volcanic activities may have contributed to the process.

At this point, it is important to note that there have been no significant impacts in recent times, and volcanic activity on the moon may have ended over a billion years ago. This means that the ice found in recent ice deposits may have formed from water brought by solar wind and micrometeorites.

The paper was published in a scientific journal.

PS5 and Xbox Scarlett – Latest Leaks and Information

0

In recent weeks a lot of information related to the PS5 and Xbox Scarlett has started to surface, answering some of the questions related to the devices. There are several great games in development for the current generation, but many are looking forward to the upcoming consoles.

Below you can find a brief comparison that contains all the information that is currently available.

Release date

Both companies have announced that the consoles will be released during the 2020 holiday season.

Price

The price remains an enigma at this point, but some analyst argues that both consoles will be more expensive due to the costly parts which are used in the manufacturing process.

Disk tray

While some gamers may prefer the all-digital concept, PS5 and Xbox Scarlett will offer disc drives that can read optical discs with a maximum capacity of 100GB and 4K Blu-ray content.

Resolution

Sony has already promised support for 4K and  8K resolutions accompanied by a 120hz refresh rate. Xbox Scarlett will pack native support for 4K, which could be a big advantage in the case of some games. A maximum of 120 FPS is also mentioned, a trait that could be quite attractive for players who love fluid games.

Storage space

The classic HDD will be swapped with high-performance SSD storage solutions, which promise an increased performance and shorter load times.

Specs

Sony and Microsoft have opted to use custom GPU and CPU solutions manufactured by AMD. Both CPUs will sport eight cores while an AMD Radeon RDNA Navi will handle graphics. The PS5 has an advantage as it also offers built-in support for 3D audio. Xbox Scarlett will use GDDR6 RAM, but the amount remains unknown.

Backward compatibility

In an attempt to appease disgruntled fans, the PS5 will offer backward compatibility for PSVR and PlayStation 4.  Xbox Scarlett will be compatible with a selection of titles released for all the previous models and select accessories.

The First Smartphones Created Entirely In Africa Have Been Unveiled

0

The first handsets manufactured and assembled entirely in Africa have been unveiled earlier this week, and the proud company that created them is Mara Group from Rwanda.

The two phones are Mara X and Mara Z, two low-end devices. Although their specs are pretty poor by comparison with nowadays flagships, the creators from Mara Group are hoping that the first African smartphones will boost the economy of Rwanda.

13 MP camera for both devices

The rear cameras are not bad at all for some low budget smartphones. Both Mara X and Mara Z feature a 13 MP camera on the rear, and both phones are running Android One editions of 8.1 Oreo as the OS. There are several differences, though.

Mara X features a MediaTek MT6739 SoC, it packs only 1 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of storage. The display is a 5.5-inch HD+ (720×1440) covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 5, it has a fingerprint sensor on the back and a 5 MP selfie camera on the front.

Mara Z is undeniably a better device than Mara X since it has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 435, 2 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of storage. The Z also has a 5.7-inch HD+ display and a fingerprint sensor on the back. Probably the biggest difference as against the X model is the selfie camera: the manufacturers created a 13 MP shooter.

Prices

Mara Z and Mara X retail for 175,750 and 120,250 Rwandan Francs (~$190 and $130), respectively. Mara Group CEO Ashish Thakkar says that the two phones are dedicated to customers who would pay a higher price for quality smartphones that are designed, manufactured, and assembled locally.

“We are actually the first who are doing manufacturing. We are making the motherboards, we are making the sub-boards during the entire process,” Thakkar said in an interview for Reuters.

Surely the two phones from Mara Group have more than enough decent specs for somebody who doesn’t have high expectations for his smartphone. And after all, they are very good gadgets for the beginning of the company’s activity in the smartphone field.
