Pokémon Go was released more than three years ago, but the title remains a fan-favorite among the world as many people continue to collect Pokémon each day. A steady stream of updates has contributed significantly to the success of the title as Niantic, the developers of the game, strive to keep players engaged by adding fresh content and fun activities.
From October 17, fans will enjoy a batch of new content as a Halloween event will be available for players for everyone. The event will last until November 1, which means that there is enough time to collect all the rewards at your own pace.
Players will have a higher chance of encountering Shadow-type Pokémon if they visit PokéStops, which have been infiltrated by Team GO Rocket. Among them we can count Beedril, Cacnea, Duskull, Electabuzz, Kakuna, Magmar, Mareep, Nuzleasf, Sableye, Seedot, and Trapinch.
Shiny Pokémon, new costumes, and a scary raid Boss will offer players new goals. New avatar items include a Zubat Bag, Pikachu Onesie, a Cubone cap, and much more. Lucky players will have a chance to encounter a Shiny Yamask.
As expected, some Pokémon will also wear thematic costumes in the wild as they celebrate Halloween too! For example Bulbasaur will sport a Shedinja costume, Charmander will look like Cubone, and Squirtle will wear a Yamask suit during raids. In the wild, players will have a chance to spot Pikachu with Mimikyu costumes, and shiny variants may appear from time to time.
Players who enjoy Raids will have a chance to test their might against Darkrai, which will be featured in the case of five-star raids. Those who enjoy Field Research will love an assortment of new missions that will be available for a limited time. Completing all the tasks which are offered may net a Forbidden Pokémon.
The rates for the catch, hatch, and transfer candies will be doubled during the event.
