We have learned that Moltres has arrived in five star raids. It will be available from Friday, the 2nd of October, until Friday, the 9th of October. You will be able to battle it and capture it. But make sure you know how to play this card.
Moltres first made its appearance in Pokémon Red and Blue on the Nintendo Gameboy. We first saw it on Victory Road, and it was on its way to Elite Four. But ever since then, we have only seen it at the top of volcanoes, in the countryside, and in Pokémon Go.
We know that it’s quite easy to capture the Legendary Birds, but this one is one of a kind. First, you need to team up with friends in a raid battle – that’s how you’ll bring in down to Earth. You need to know the moves.
Here’s how to catch it
In order to catch it in raid battles, you will need to make it weak with Rock-type moves. Keep in mind that Moltres has a 4x weakness to Rock. It also has 2x weakness to Water and Electric – but for these, you’ll need a Pokémon that knows certain moves.
Moltres will be an easier raid than Zapdos. A lot of Rhyhorns appears in the woods, and if you do have a Sinnoh Stone (which you got from the Porygon Community Day), then you might want to evolve a Rhyperior in order to destroy Moltres’ defense.
Even if it has a weakness to Rock, it’s stronger when it comes to Ground-type moves. You need to make a plan and use the right types of moves.
These are the best counters: Rhyperior, Tyranitar, Rampardos, Terrakion, and Landorus.
