Those of you who pre–order PlayStation 5 will have at least one game to play for free with the new console because every PS5 will come pre–loaded with Astro’s Playroom. If the game seems familiar to you, that’s because it has previously made its appearance in the PS VR game called Astro Bot Rescue Mission, and it appears that Sony is including the robot as being the mascot of PS5.
Players finally got to see what Astro’s Playroom looks like at the recent PS5 reveal event. The streaming also showed rumored games such as Horizon Forbidden West and Resident Evil Village. We also got some surprises such as Pragmata and Little Devil Inside. At the end of the show, they revealed the design of the PS5 console, and the reactions were mixed. However, we still don’t know anything about the price and the release date of the new console.
We stated before that Astro Bot is a freebie. The game Astro’s Playroom gets his name from the PS4 pre-loaded game, The Playroom. However, unlike the Playroom, this is something people can actually enjoy. This one is a single platformer with four levels. Sony stated that every level will focus on a different story, which will actually put in a spotlight the features of the new PS5 DualSense controller. This one is the perfect game to play if you want to see what the new console is made out of.
Let us remind you that Astro Bot Rescue Mission was a VR game exclusively, and it was one of the best VR games out there, may we suggest. But Astro’s Playroom is a traditional game. If there are any new VR features, we haven’t heard about them. VR was actually nowhere to be found in the recent PS5 reveal.
