Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Leak Reveals Impressive Specs

A new Samsung Galaxy Note 20 leak has unveiled the specs for the mobile device, along with some images and a video of the Note 20 Plus, which render a pretty impressive smartphone. The source of the leak is Ice Universe, one of the most reputable leakers in the industry.

The leaker has compared the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra with the Galaxy Note 10 Plus, the most fully-featured model in the Note 10 series. This is encouraging because other speculations seem to imply the standard Galaxy Note 20 has some dull specs in comparison. Most people believed the images accompanying the tweets were showcasing the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, but Ice Universe has followed with a post, clarifying the misunderstanding.

Numerous rumors were saying that the S Pen stylus will be receiving enhancements, but there is no certain information on how it will improve. Last year, the function had some air gestures included, which make the stylus a remote control for the camera and allowed users to carry out actions by waving around. Samsung will probably enhance the stylus in this area.

In terms of the camera upgrades that were previously mentioned, the rear cameras of the Note 20 Ultra will allegedly be enhanced by a laser depth sensor. This will help the 108MP camera that’s also said to be featured on the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra since it has encountered some autofocusing issues in the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

Ice Universe also notes that the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is powered by a Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC. Previously, it was believed that the Snapdragon 865 processor that has powered most Android flagships this year would not get a Plus version. Still, the leaker seems convinced that there will be such a model, so we should expect a higher performance level from the Ultra version.

When it comes to the screen, Ice Universe stated it would pack simultaneous QHD resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, which is an improvement over the Galaxy S20 series, which could manage these functions but not at once.

This enhancement is probably achieved by the speculated use of an LTPO display, which is a new screen technology that enables much greater effectivity by actively changing the refresh rate from between 1Hz to 120Hz. Because 120Hz displays are known for their power consumption, it could be a crafty decision by Samsung to use this technology.

The leaker’s second tweet talks about how the size of the Note 20 Ultra can be compared to the Note 20 Plus; it comes with great news in terms of looks, with smaller bezels on all sides, a tinier punch-hole for the selfie camera and reduced body depth.

However, there’s no information on battery or charging specs in the latest set of rumors. So far, the standard Note 20 is believed to pack a 4,000 mAh battery, while the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will probably have a 4,500 mAh or a 5,000 mAh capacity. Both models are expected to deliver 25W charging, but the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra may have the ability to use Samsung’s 45W power block for faster charging, but which can be bought separately only.

We’ll see soon whether these rumors are correct, as the Note 20 is said to have an August reveal event, during which Samsung will reportedly also announce the Galaxy Fold 2, the Galaxy Watch 2, and other new smartphones.
