GTA V has been one of the most popular games of the decade, and many players continue to enjoy the story mode or GTA Online.
However, more than six years have passed since the game was released, and some fans are looking forward to a sequel. Some sources speculate that GTA VI could be released at some point in the future while others argue that Rockstar will try to harvest the maximum amount of money via GTA Online microtransactions before it releases a new entry.
Steven Ogg, who voiced the popular character Trevor Phillips in GTA V, dropped an interesting tease during a recent event. The actor attended the Brazil Game Show and agreed to answer a few questions for gaming news outlets. When asked about the possible release date of GTA VI, Ogg stated that the game will be released soon and mentioned that the average development cycle for a Rockstar game takes 7 to 8 years.
The statement ignited a large number of discussions on the internet as some fans hope that the anticipated game will be released in 2020, with others arguing that it could be one of the launch markets for the next generation of consoles.
At this point, it is important to note that there is no way to tell if Ogg has intel from Rockstar or if the actor merely wanted to appease the public. Many of the rumors which are floating around the internet claim that the events of the next game in the series will take place in Vice City.
It is also worth mentioning that some reports infer that work on GTA VI began in 2018 after Rockstar released Red Dead Redemption 2. This would mean that gamers will have to wait until 2025 to play the game.
In any case, Rockstar will work hard to polish the title and offer a great experience.
