The Last of Us Part II Has Been Reportedly Enhanced After the Last Demo Was Shown

The Last of Us director Neil Druckmann talked about how things are currently after the delay of the game’s Part II was announced in the latest episode of the PlayStation BlogCast.

He was asked about the plans for launch, as well as if the game will only be released digitally and not in an event. The director said that nothing had been yet decided as the developers are considering numerous options they could have, which is going to take some time.

“There hasn’t been a final decision yet. Right now, we’re just reacting to different… you know… it’s a different retail chain… Whether like we can get physical copies to people… What is the internet infrastructure there to support in all countries… We’re right now looking at all sorts of options. What is the best way to get it to all of our fans as soon as possible, but that’s gonna take time for us to shift and figure things out and also see where the world is at. Things are changing from day to day,” Druckmann explained.

He also mentioned the possibility to at least share a demo that has previously been shown to press. The director also explained that the title has enhanced in a great manner after the last press demo was released.

“And also that demo is outdated now. It’s not a great representation of where the game is. The game has improved greatly since that press demo,” he said.

The Work on the Game is Almost Finished

Players have also asked about the current state of the development on the game, whether The Last of Us Part II is already prepared to roll out, or if there is more work to be done to it. Apparently, the developers are at the ‘one-yard line,’ as per the director. There are still a few bugs they are trying to address, as well as numerous other types of polishes they carry out as they try to take their time to review every part of it.

Druckmann also mentioned that the team is ‘disappointed and a little bit crushed’ because they were excited about the launch for years now. But the kind words from the fans’ give them the fuel’ they need at the moment, the director said.

Still on the subject of The Last of Us, a new TV series is allegedly coming to HBO, co-written by Druckmann. Also, the Part II of the game is going to be available for PS4, but it doesn’t have a release date as of yet.
