Gmail has encountered along time a lot of upgrades, both in terms of design and functionality. The service got indeed better and more intuitive, and users can enjoy a smooth experience. There are, though, some tips if you want to enhance your experience and (re)discover Gmail.
Turn on the Dark Mode in Gmail
Google now provides a dark design so that you can enjoy a more mysterious experience. Another version is available, too, dubbed the Terminal, and is a little bit darker. There are, however, many other themes in many different categories, or you can even add your pictures if you want.
Useful Shortcuts and Quick Buttons
Gmail is offering now some excellent, quick interaction functions. Try to enable them by moving your cursor on an email, and some small buttons will appear for archive, mark as unread, delete, and put on hold. Such functions will save you a lot of time. Also, you can use keyboard shortcuts, too! Enable them in the General Settings page, and then you will only have to interact via specific keys.
If you look on the right side of your display, you will notice some buttons for some various Google services. Google also allows you to add some stuff from the G Suite Marketplace, such as Trello.
Customize the Interface
The interface can be easily modified using, of course, a theme, as was known before. If you want to customize the appearance of Gmail preview, you can click on the gear icon in the top right corner and then on Display Density. Then select the display version you want.
The Hold Function
Hold Function is a feature that allows you to do a specific thing later, by rescheduling it. That way, you can be sure that you won’t forget about any plans. To enable it, click on the hold button, and then select one of the default options or set the date and time yourself.
