Unexpected! The ASUS Zenfone 7 – Third Lens And A Flipping Camera

One year after Asus amazed us with the flipping cameras of the Zenfone 6, the company is back with the Zenfone 7 and 7 pro models.

Both handsets pack rotating camera arrays like last year’s model and the bulky 5,000 mAh batteries.

However, there are some changes to this year’s models, including an extra zoom lens of the camera array and a new OLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate.

Release Date

According to Asus, the devices will be launched in specific European markets on September 1st, but not in the United States.

The precise pricing for the European models will be announced on that date.

However, the phone is available for sale in Taiwan currently. It Taiwan, the Zenfone 7 costs about $750, while the Pro model costs about $950.

Highlights

The flipping camera module is an impressive feature of the Zenfone 7, as it was the case with its predecessor.

The three camera sensors swing around from the rear of the phone to the front at the tap of a button, so you won’t have to deal with a display notch.

Also, selfie shots get an extra flexibility level since the primary camera works as a selfie camera, too!

The camera module packs a 64 MP wide-angle camera, 12 MP ultrawide camera with 113-degree FOV, and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3X optical zoom.

Therefore, the handset will be capable of super-useful selfie shots and video and enhanced zoom!

The Zenfone 7 Pro’s wide-angle and telephoto cameras feature optical image stabilization, which isn’t available on the Zenfone 7.

The flipping mechanism is a true testimony to the progress of modern engineering.

It is now rated to withstand 200,000 flips! That is twice as much the Zenfone 6 could!
