WhatsApp Is Working On An Enhanced Search Mode On Android Beta

WhatsApp has just introduced the Advanced Search function, among a plethora of functions that have been released by WABetaInfo.

According to a website that posts frequent WhatsApp updates, the new feature is available for all users who have WhatsApp version 2.20.197.7+ and onwards.

The Report

According to the report, users would be able to efficiently search for the message type that they sent to their contacts with the new search mode.

For example, you will be able to quickly access all the shared images, GIFs, and videos that you have sent.

Additionally, if you are using WhatsApp on an Android device, you can check WhatsApp’s beta tester program.

The reason why only some testers receive the new feature is that WhatsApp is enabling the feature from the server-side for some of them.

WABetaInfo stated:

“This type of activation is partial and very slow: this happens when a company decides to gradually enable a feature to see the effects of it when enabled. In these situations, it’s better to enable the feature for a few users rather than everyone.”

The new feature comes as a response to the WhatsApp users community’s response.

Many people asked for an enhanced search feature so that they could access content easier.

If you are among WhatsApp’s billions of users, you probably tried to find a picture you sent or received a while ago and had to scroll for a while before seeing it.

Also, remember that cute gif you received? Searching for it takes a while, but the new feature will put an end to that. Advanced filtering will boost the speed of the searches, saving you time and stress.
